Winterwords is so much more than a writers’ festival, it’s three days of talking, listening, watching, and doing which aims to foster the celebration of words!

Attend a panel discussion or an author talk, participate in a workshop, listen to, or tell a story, attend a play reading, see an art exhibition, listen to or share some poetry, play with philosophy, chat in the pub by the open fire: There’s something for everyone!

While most events take place in the Beechworth Memorial Hall, other venues include cafes, pubs, and a range of historic and civic buildings across Beechworth. Activities such as our art exhibitions, drama performances and play readings are run in collaboration with other community organisations such as the Mayday Hills Arts Society and The Beechworth Theatre Company.

With so much to do over a weekend in winter, Winterwords is truly a unique event.
